I am a seeker.
Seeking of that which stirs me, challenges me, pushes me, teaches me and helps me to see the world from a different perspective.
This is what leads me to travel. Wandering new lands and swapping stories with a fellow explorer is one of my most favorite and most invigorating experience. I always return from a an excursion renewed and ready to take on the new day.
A great film can do this as well. Stir the heart and shift the perspective of the mind.
To see something anew. To feel something and be transported. To come out the other side having traveled a journey. This is the power of storytelling.
Of my current projects, “Women in the Front Seat” is a documentary about women motorcycle riders. But it’s also a journey full of stories of courage, companionship, family, friendship, adventure, personal challenge and change, and the heart it takes to lead a life true to oneself. It’s about women leading their lives on their own terms. It’s what we don’t see often enough in media and entertainment. The diversity, strength, and power of women’s life stories.
“Sikhs in America” delves into the questions of faith, community and belonging. How do we come together in this land of mixed races with a strong sense of cultural identity and a deep connection to the country we call home, America?
My passion is to bring to an audience much needed stories and images that been missing in our entertainment landscapes. Images have power.
And the stories we see and hear everyday have impact on who we are as people and as a society and how we understand each other.
